Protecting the environment and the beautiful landscape of the Überetsch region is very important to us. Our vision is to make our decisions as sustainable as possible. Sustainable thinking runs through all areas of our residence—from construction (ClimateHouse A standard) to travel and mobility, all the way to how we source and process breakfast products.
Green travel and green mobility
We are happy when our guests arrive in Caldaro by public transport. With a booking, you can request that we send you the WinePass for a free train or bus journey from Brenner, San Candido (Innichen) or Malles (Mals).
In addition, during your stay we provide the free South Tyrol Guest Pass, which allows you to use all public transport throughout South Tyrol free of charge, including the Mendel funicular.
We use the power of the sun – photovoltaic system
Photovoltaic system
For example, with our photovoltaic system installed on the sunniest parts of our roofs. It provides us with plenty of clean energy and supports environmentally conscious facilities and greater sustainability in our residence.
The photovoltaic system—together with our energy-efficient construction (ClimateHouse A)—covers our residence’s energy needs in a natural way, and our solar collectors heat our outdoor pool naturally.
Fresh, natural spring water throughout the house
Water is the source of life and has played an important role since time immemorial. Our water is of excellent quality and comes directly from the Mendel mountains. We treat our water carefully and responsibly. Throughout the residence we offer fresh spring water.
We provide our guests with free water carafes that they can refill themselves with our fresh mountain spring water (straight from the tap). This way, you enjoy “sparkling drinking pleasure” and at the same time contribute to responsible water use. It also helps us avoid unnecessary transport and disposal of water in plastic bottles.
We also place great emphasis on sustainability in irrigation: we collect rainwater in a large tank and use it to water our entire green area.
Breakfast
With our breakfast offer, we place great emphasis on regional, homemade and organic products. Wherever possible, we use only products and foods that are produced and processed locally and naturally—with short transport routes.
We serve homemade juices, yoghurt from South Tyrolean dairies, cheese and cured meats from South Tyrolean mountain farmers, natural honey from Caldaro, bread from Wörndle bakery in Caldaro, fruit from the farmers’ market, organic eggs from South Tyrol and much more.
Sustainable mobility: charging stations for e-bikes and electric cars
Environmental protection also shows in how we move around the region. In our underground garage you will find two modern charging stations for electric cars, as well as the option to charge your e-bike. We are pleased to offer you a holiday that is not only enjoyable, but also protects the environment and surroundings we love so much.
